Home made wood lathe

Not having the budget of a prince, I made my own wood lathe.

+

It can turn bowls up to 38cm in diameter, has a 1400W 1400 rpm motor, and so far 3 speeds, 300, 600 and 1400 rpm.

+

Today I'm having a lot of fun with it, and this kind of article is always a target for endless improvements.

Video of the lath working with a rough cherry bowl ready for final shooting.

Update:

+

The bearing support wore out and rather than build a new one I replaced it with a Coronet Herald
